The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Data in the Health Sector

Artificial Intelligence and secondary use of health data represent a pivotal frontier where cutting-edge technology is supposed to improve healthcare delivery and create more effective workflows and systems. Through ongoing innovation, it promises to transform the landscape of medicine and healthcare management. Even though DPIs had brought new possibilities for information access and the expediency of public health processes (including data collection that is key to research and development of new health-supportive public mechanisms). However, it is undeniable that the phenomenon of informatization of health brings new challenges to the scene: especially those regarding privacy.

The initiative aims to discuss the applications of Artificial Intelligence in health data governance, highlighting improvements in workflows and the transformation of the medical sector. The discussion will explore the role of public digital infrastructures in accessing information and speeding up public health processes, including the collection of data for research and development of new health support mechanisms. The challenges of healthcare informatization will also be approached, with a focus on privacy and the protection of patient data.
