The debate around climate change has produced an increasing preoccupation with the pressures made by industrial and economic activities on the environment. Such preoccupation has been translated into the establishment of the idea of Green or Sustainable Supply Chain Management (GSCM or SSCM), i.e., a way of operating that incorporates environmentally responsible practices into traditional supply chains intending to reduce the impacts caused on natural resources while maintaining a competitive and successful business model. The event will invite Brazilian and Belgian experts to discuss the state of the art of green shipping in both countries. The representatives of Porto do Açu and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges will be invited to present the best practices being adopted by their companies, the challenges they face while pursuing this path, and the results of such transformative practices.
