Biography Evangelina Seiler
Senior Fellow at the Brazilian Center of International Relations (CEBRI). Evangelina Seiler is a curator and art consultant. She was the curator for the exhibitions “Chantal Akerman Tempo Expandido” (2018), “Victor Matina Antes do Forum” (2017), and “Rosangela Renno Espírito de Tudo” (2016).
Between 2009 and 2014, Ms. Seiler was director of the France-Brazil House in Rio de Janeiro, where she elaborated a program directed towards contemporary culture, focused on large installations, in addition to initiatives involving fashion, music, design, architecture, and gastronomy.
In 2007, she was co-curator for the exhibits “Mão Dupla” at SESC Pinheiros and “Espelhos - espelhos/reflexões” at the Marilia Razuk gallery, both in São Paulo. Before that, she was curator for the exhibit “Espaço Urbano X Natureza Intrínseca”, at the Espace Topographie de L’Art, in Paris (2005).
Between 2000 and 2005, Ms. Seiler curated several exhibitions and projects on art and reflection on Brazilian art in Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. From 1989 until 1998, she worked at the Contemporary Art Center in Geneva, Switzerland, where she curated exhibitions by artists such as Waltercio Caldas (1995) and Jac Leirner (1993).
