Biography Carlos Milani
Senior Fellow at the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) and the Brazilian Scientific Development Council. Carlos R. S. Milani holds a PhD in Development Studies from Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS, 1997), and is Full Professor of International Relations at the Rio de Janeiro State University’s Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP-UERJ). He coordinates two research centers: the World Political Analysis Laboratory (LABMUNDO) and the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change (OIMC). His research agenda includes Brazilian and comparative foreign policy, international development cooperation, South-South relations, human rights and climate change. His latest books are “Solidarity and Interest: Motivations and Strategies in International Development Cooperation” (2023, in Spanish) and “Global Assessment of Climate Obstruction” (OUP, forthcoming).
