After years of friendly relations with the United States, although more ceremonial than truly effective, the Brazilian government has been showing signs that it intends to strengthen its contacts with Washington. Part of that expectation stems from the ideological and methodological affinity between Presidents Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump, including the technological tools used by both in their respective election campaigns, which proved successful. However, there are more doubts than certainties in this approach, both in the South and in the North of the continent.
