Biography Raul Jungmann
Raul Jungmann served as a Trustee of CEBRI and as CEO of the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM) from 2022 to 2026.
Over more than five decades of public life, he stood out for serving as Brazil's Minister of State on four occasions, leading the Land Policy Secretariat (1996–1999), the Ministry of Agrarian Development (1999–2002), the Ministry of Defense (2016–2018), and the Ministry of Public Security (2018–2019). He also served three terms as a Federal Deputy (2003–2006; 2007–2010; 2015–2018).
Throughout his career, he held several senior positions in the federal government, including serving as President of the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA). He also founded and led civil society organizations and served on the boards of several institutions.
In recognition of his contributions to public service, he was awarded national honors by the Government of Brazil on three occasions.
