Biography Renato Galvão Flôres Junior
Trustee of the Brazilian Center for Internacional Relations (CEBRI),is Director of FGV IIU International Intelligence Unit, at Fundação Getulio Vargas, where he is also Professor at FGV EPGE Graduate School of Economics. He has a vast array of interests, which range from international political economy and law to quantitative developments in economics. At present, his interest is mainly focussed on geopolitics. He has a long academic career, with spells in the public sector (Brazilian Ministry of Planning); has served as an expert to the WTO and consultant to numerous private businesses, official institutions and governments. The IDB, the OECD and the UNDP, together with Australia, Canada, Indonesia and the European Union, are examples of the latter. Professor Renato Flôres is a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies - IISS, London, UK, the Robert Triffin Institute - RTI, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and the Academia das Ciências, Lisbon, Portugal. He received the Golden Medal, Friend of Canada, awarded by the Right Honourable Governor General of Canada. His latest book, in line with his present geopolitical interests, is ‘The World Corona Changed: US, China and Middle Powers in the New International Order’, Abingdon: Routledge, 2022.
