Russia's position in the international system, the confrontation with the US and Russia's relations with the non-Western world are the themes covered in CEBRI's 24th Breaking News article. The newest edition is the result of the conference held on May 10th, at the Naval War College (EGN), which gave the publication its name: "Global Trends in Russian Foreign Policy". The event was held by CEBRI in partnership with the Brazilian Naval War College (EGN) and the Navy's Center for Political-Strategic Studies (CEPE-MB).

The event's speaker was the Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, Colonel Dmitri Vitalyevich Trenin. The President of the Center for Political-Strategic Studies of the Navy (CEPE-MB), Admiral-de-Squad Álvaro Augusto Dias Monteiro, and the President of CEBRI's Board of Trustees, José Pio Borges, opened the event. Also participating in the debate were CEBRI Trustee and Professor at the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (EPGE/FGV), Renato Galvão Flôres Jr, and the Superintendent of Research and Postgraduate Studies at the Naval War College (EGN), Rear Admiral Marcio Magno de Farias Franco e Silva.
