At the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) held in Baku, CEBRI participated in strategic discussions addressing crucial topics such as critical minerals, a just energy transition, climate financing mechanisms, and sustainable practices.
On November 17, Izabella Teixeira, Trustee Emeritus of CEBRI and Special Advisor to the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) for G20 and COP29 and COP30, attended the meeting of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) that took place during COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Moderated by Jean Baderschneider, member of the Board of Directors of Fortescue Metals and Fortescue Future Industries and chair of the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery, the event highlighted key expectations and priorities for negotiations and activities, aiming to reinforce the commitment to collaboration with the International Advisory Committee (IAC) in promoting the presidency's initiatives. Emphasizing the importance of ongoing negotiations for the success of COP29, the meeting underscored the significant role of non-state actors and the private sector in achieving climate goals.
