On November 11 and 12, the T20 Brasil community and representatives from the G20 gathered at the Palácio do Itamaraty in Rio de Janeiro for the T20 Brasil Summit. The event marked the conclusion of the engagement group's activities, which is one of the most relevant in the G20 ecosystem during the Brazilian presidency, bringing together members of the Task Forces, think tanks, and research institutions.

Organized by CEBRI, FUNAG, IPEA, the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro, and the Representation Office of Itamaraty in Rio de Janeiro (ERERIO/MRE), the Summit facilitated an expanded dialogue between the think tanks of the T20 network and experts with practical experience in public policy implementation, strengthening the link between academic thought and decision-making processes.

This year's Brazilian edition of the T20 was organized into six Task Forces, divided into the following themes: combating inequalities, poverty, and hunger; sustainable climate action and inclusive and just energy transitions; reforming the international financial architecture; trade and investment for sustainable and inclusive growth; inclusive digital transformation; and strengthening multilateralism and global governance.

Specifically designed to promote active participation and knowledge exchange among members of the T20 Brasil community, the event's program included a dedicated session for each task force. This allowed for in-depth discussions on the key issues related to their focus areas.

The T20 Brasil Summit also marked the official handover ceremony of the Brazilian leadership of the T20 to South Africa, which will assume the G20 presidency in 2025. Next year, the Organizing Committee will be composed of the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation/University of Johannesburg (IPATC/UJ), and the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).
