Mathias Alencastro holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Oxford and a Master's degree in History from the Sorbonne University in Paris. He is also a researcher at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP). Alencastro has taught at the Federal University of ABC, at Sciences-Po, and has published his work in various national and international scientific journals. He has also served as a special advisor for international affairs at the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs during the tenure of Minister Roberto Mangabeira Unger. He was a columnist for Folha de São Paulo from 2017 to 2022.
