Biography Pedro Vormittag

Pedro Vormittag is the Chief of Staff to State Congressman Eduardo Cavaliere at Rio de Janeiro’s State Legislature. Previously, he served as Chief of Staff to the Presidency of CEBRI and as CEBRI’s Director of Government and Institutional Relations. Pedro represented CEBRI as an Emerging Leader at the Atlantic Dialogues of the Policy Center for the New South in Marrakesh, Morocco, as a NEXT Leader at the Milan Forum of the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), and as a Delegate at the T20 2023 in Mysore, India. He was Head of Content for the LEGADO Program, an educational platform created by President Fernando Henrique Cardoso for Brazilian and global youth, under the academic coordination of Ambassador Rubens Ricupero. He also served as an Observer for the Organization of American States (OAS) in the general and presidential elections in Honduras in 2021.

Pedro holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Columbia University, where he was the Editor of the Columbia Journal of International Affairs, a Person of the Year Fellow with the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Latin American Students Association, and Director of the Students Association at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). He also holds a Master’s degree in International Management from the São Paulo School of Business Administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-EAESP). At the São Paulo School of Commerce, Pedro developed the sustainable development course and taught International Law, Customs Legislation, and Foreign Trade.

Prior to his current role at Rio’s State Legislature, Pedro held government positions at São Paulo City Hall as the City’s Deputy Coordinator for Youth Policy at the Secretariat of Human Rights (2017) and as a Director at the Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (2019). A lawyer graduated from the University of São Paulo, he is currently a member of the International Relations Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association in São Paulo and a Researcher at the Government Laboratory of the University of São Paulo School of Law.
