A Política Externa Brasileira e sua Projeção Internacional: um projeto caracterizado pela continuidade

  • 11 january 2012

The article outlines the greater visibility of Brazil in international politics, arguing said phenomenon is caused by the maintenance of two long-term objectives of Brazilian foreign policy. These are 1) its search for autonomy and 2) its projection in the international arena. The argument is based on an historical analysis of the South American and globalist paradigms and their revision of the pragmatic and autonomist institutionalist paradigms. Through these milestones, it is possible to see that the continuity of Brazilian foreign policy and the development of specific strategies to achieve these goals remain coherent, even with administration and regime changes.
