The criticism of German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer in relation to leaders who underestimated the Covid-19 pandemic was highlighted in the Poder360 news outlet. The comments were made on the 16th of September during the opening panel of the Forte de Copacabana International Security Conference, organized by CEBRI, in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the European Union Delegation to Brazil.
"There were even those who tried to turn their ignorance into a populist virtue, accusing those who warned of the gravity of the situation of cowardice. As a result, they put the safety of the population itself at risk and accumulated the burden of many preventable deaths on their consciences. In Brazil, the virus spread drastically, claiming many human lives, polarizing society and slowing down the economy. Despite not being an instance of war, the pandemic tarnished the peace between people," stressed Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.
