CEBRI begins a new chapter in its trajectory this Friday (12/12) with the official inauguration of its new headquarters — a significant milestone in expanding our activities, strengthening our institutional presence, and deepening dialogue on Brazil's future and its role in the international arena.
Designed to broaden our reach and further enhance engagement with society, the new headquarters offers 2,000 m² of built area, surrounded by 7,000 m² of preserved Atlantic Forest, providing a unique environment for reflection, knowledge production, and collaboration.
This project is the result of a strategic partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), which enabled the revitalization of a historic property belonging to the University's heritage. The initiative expands opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.
The restored estate now houses a space dedicated to dialogue with society and to exchange with academic institutions, think tanks, and national and international organizations. It reaffirms our mission to serve as a living center of ideas and forward-looking reflection, guided by autonomy, plurality, and public interest.
The headquarters' infrastructure includes bicycle parking, an accessible elevator, and gardens designed by the Burle Marx Landscape Architecture Office. In 2026, the chapel located on the property will be restored and will receive works by visual artist Vik Muniz. Sculptures by artist Raul Mourão will also be installed in the garden area.
Situated within a cultural corridor that brings together emblematic institutions — such as the Botanical Garden, the Jockey Club, the Planetarium, the Moreira Salles Institute, the City History Museum, the City Park, the Confucius Institute and Casa das Garças — the new headquarters is located in a vibrant ecosystem of creativity, research, and reflection.
We extend our gratitude to the companies that supported the implementation of the new headquarters: Vale, Itaú Unibanco, Klabin, Konrad Adenauer Foundation Brazil, ENGIE Brasil, ExxonMobil, Light, Shell, TIM Brasil, Equinor, Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), Origem Energia, Veirano Advogados, Altera, and BMA Advogados.
