On December 11, CEBRI, in partnership with the Institute of the Americas (IoA), hosted the conference "Regional Integration as a Catalyst for Energy Transition." Held at the Fairmont Copacabana Hotel, the event received support from Siemens Energy, Integra Capital, Origem, and ERM, and brought together energy experts from various South American countries to discuss urgent issues related to regional integration and energy.
The conference, conducted in Portuguese and English with simultaneous translation, gathered 19 representatives from the private sector, government institutions, and international organizations for a series of three discussion panels. Topics addressed in the panels included strategies for regional energy integration, electrical infrastructure for the future, the role of molecules in decarbonization, and innovative solutions for sustainable and resilient systems.
The event was opened by Jeremy Martin (Institute of the Americas) and Décio Oddone (CEBRI and Brava Energia), and featured participation from experts such as André Clark (CEBRI and Siemens Energy), Alexandre Siciliano (BNDES), Rafaela Guedes (CEBRI), Rui Chammas (ISA Energia Brasil), Medardo Cadena (Latin American Energy Organization), Tulio Marcus (Regional Energy Integration Commission), Jesus Alberto Tejeda Ricardez (Inter-American Development Bank), Henrique Paiva (Siemens Energy), Antonio Silveira (CAF), Marcelo Martins (Elecnor), Daniel Marx (Edenor), Gabriela Aguilar (Excelerate Energy), Nathan Biddle (Origem), Rodrigo Senne (Âmbar Energia), Gabriela Duarte (Petrobras), Paulo Santos (LAC and ERM), and Ana Zettel (BNDES).
