On Thursday (07/04), the President of CEBRI, Julia Dias Leite, and the Director of Projects, Luciana Gama Muniz, attended a meeting that, for the first time in the history of the forum of the world’s largest economies, brought together representatives from the 13 engagement groups of the G20 Social with the delegation of Sherpas.
In an unprecedented move since the creation of the G20, civil society representatives sat at the meeting table alongside the sherpas from all countries and international organizations to deliver policy recommendations to the representatives, which may be included in the joint declaration during the Leaders' Summit of the forum in November.

The G20 Social is an initiative led by the Brazilian presidency that brings together representatives from civil society. Since the start of Brazil’s presidency in the G20, it has focused on promoting innovative and inclusive agendas. The initiative aims to amplify the voice of non-governmental actors in the activities and decisions of the G20.
Until November, the month that will host both the Social Summit and the G20 Leaders' Summit, other meeting spaces between civil society and the Sherpa and Finance tracks will take place to bring the population and authorities of the Group closer and align the discussion.
In 2024, CEBRI, alongside the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG) and the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA), will be part of the Organizing Committee for Think 20 Brazil (T20 Brazil), taking on the responsibility of generating knowledge, fostering constructive dialogue, and providing policy recommendations during Brazil's presidency in the G20.
