  • 26 april 2024

On April 25, Luciana Gama Muniz, Project Director of the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), attended the 1st Extended Meeting of the G20 Social, with the involvement of engagement groups, social organizations, federal government authorities and civil representatives.

Held at the Planalto Palace in Brasilia/DF, the meeting represents an effort to bring civil society closer to the Finance and Sherpas tracks through the engagement groups.

The Social G20, one of the features of President Lula's current government, brings together 13 engagement groups, representing different themes of social debate. The initiative promotes the broad inclusion and participation of civil society in the process of developing public policies.

This year, CEBRI, the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG) and the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea), are coordinating the T20 Brazil Organizing Committee, one of the G20's most influential Engagement Groups.
