On March 4th and 6th, the "T20 Brazil: Inception Conference" stands as the inaugural cornerstone of Think20 Brazil’s 2024 procedures. The initiative brought together think tank groups, research institutions, and members of the Task Forces involved in the engagement group, which is one of the most relevant within the G20 ecosystem.
Over the course of three days, debate sessions were held dedicated to the strategic roadmap of each Task Force, with prominent voices from the International and National Advisory Councils taking part and providing valuable insights for the T20 Brazil process.
The recommendations of the Task Forces will be synthesized into a Final Communiqué, which will be presented to the G20 Sherpa and Finance Track leaders in July. The aim is to influence the deliberations before and during the G20 Summit, scheduled for 18 and 19 November 2024, contributing to the formulation of concrete policies and global action plans.
This year's Brazilian edition of T20 is organized into six task forces dealing with the following themes:Fighting inequalities, poverty, and hunger; Sustainable climate action and inclusive just energy transitions; reforming the international financial architecture; trade and investment for sustainable and inclusive growth; inclusive digital transformation; and strengthening multilateralism and global governance.
This year, T20 Brazil is coordinated by the Brazilian Centre for International Relations (CEBRI), the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG) and the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA).
