China is undergoing a major demographic shift, marked since 2022 by rapid population aging and persistently low fertility rates. This dynamic offers important lessons for other emerging economies, including Brazil, which is projected to face population decline from 2041. To discuss these challenges in a comparative perspective, CEBRI’s China Analysis Group will host an online seminar bringing together experts from both countries to analyze demographic trends, their drivers, and their social, economic, and environmental implications.
