On November 11 and 12, 2024, the T20 Brasil community and G20 representatives will gather at the Itamaraty Palace in Rio de Janeiro for the T20 Brasil Summit. Over two days, leaders of national and international think tanks, members of academia, representatives of the public and private sectors, and civil society will discuss the main public policy recommendations that the engagement group formulated throughout the year for the leaders of the G20 countries.
The early delivery of the T20 Communiqué to the leaders of the G20 Sherpa and Finance Tracks, which took place at the Midterm Conference in July, allowed T20 Brasil to aim to go beyond formulating recommendations and promote dialogue around strategies for implementing the proposed public policies, with the aim of decisively influencing the official G20 declaration.
The format and program of the Summit have been designed to promote active participation and knowledge exchange among T20 Brasil members and community. Each Task Force will have its own session to discuss in depth the main issues related to its focus theme, and participants will be able to register to participate in multiple sessions.
In addition, the Summit will facilitate an expanded dialogue between T20 network think tanks and experts with practical experience in implementing public policy, strengthening the link between academic thinking and decision-making processes.
The T20 Brasil Summit is organized by CEBRI, FUNAG, IPEA, the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, the Representative Office of the Itamaraty in Rio de Janeiro (ERERIO/MRE), and sponsored by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), Equinor Brasil, the Institute for Climate and Society (iCS), Veirano Advogados, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Corporation, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Brazil (KAS Brasil), and Suzano.
Let’s rethink the world!
