Biography Diego Werneck Arguelhes
Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Center of International Relations (CEBRI). Diego Werneck is Associate Professor at Insper, São Paulo. He holds a PhD in Law from Yale University, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Public Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Before joining the faculty at Insper, he was Assistant Professor (2006-2011) and Adjunct Professor (2011-2019) at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s Law School in Rio de Janeiro (FGV DIREITO RIO).
He was a Scholar at the Fundação Estudar, as well as the Yale Law School (2007-2008); a Visiting Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for International Law and Comparative Public Law (Heidelberg, Germany) (2016), with a grant from the institution; Visiting Fellow at the Information Society Project, Yale Law School (2017); Hauser Global Research Fellow at the New York University (NYU) School of Law (2017); Visiting Professor at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (2019); and collaborating professor in the Law Graduate Program at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ, 2020-2021).
He is a member of the SELA network - Seminário en Latinoamérica de Teoría Constitucional y Política - and founding co-director of the Brazilian Chapter of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S). He regularly publishes in the media about the Federal Supreme Court and constitutional law, being one of the founders and editors of the blog Supra: o Supremo Interpretado and contributing to the podcast Sem Precedentes.
