Biography Luiz Augusto de Castro Neves

Vice-Chairman Emeritus at the Brazilian Center of International Relations (CEBRI). He was formerly the Chairman of CEBRI. Neves is President of the Brazil-China Business Council and Former Ambassador of Brazil to Paraguay (2000-2004), China (2004-2008) and Japan (2008-2010). At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs and Director-General for the Americas.

He held the positions of Deputy Chief of Economic Affairs of the National Security Council Staff and Executive Secretary for Strategic Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic. He acted as Member of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in Vienna between 1979-1985. 

Neves is Member of the Board of Directors of the Pão de Açúcar Group, where he chairs the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee. He is also Member of the Technical Council of the National Confederation of Commerce. He studied Economics at UFRJ and holds a Master's Degree in Economics from University College, University of London.
