Biography Antonio Augusto Martins Cesar
Having joined Brazilian Foreign Relations Ministry in 1997, Antonio Augusto Martins Cesar is a minister in the diplomatic career. He has been Brazilian Ambassador to Tanzania, Comoros and Seychelles (2019-2022) and chargé-d’affaires in Sudan (February and March 2023) and Gabon (September and October, 2023). Antonio has been posted to the Brazilian embassies in Pretoria, Windhoek, Lisbon, Asunción and San Salvador. In Brasilia, he was chief of the Africa Division I (Western and Central Africa), between 2008 and 2010 and was responsible for African themes in the office of the Minister of Foreign Relations between 2011 and 2012. He is member of the Order of Rio Branco (Commander) and has contributed with the literature on the Kimberley Process. Since April 2024 he is the Director of the African Department in Itamaraty's Secretariat for Africa and the Middle East.
