The Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) was present at the conference "Brazil–Germany Dialogue: Building the Transatlantic Future," held on March 9, 2026, at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro. Organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), the event brought together diplomatic authorities, academic experts, private sector representatives, and members of civil society to discuss the challenges and opportunities for Brazil–Germany cooperation in a context of transformation in the global order.

The panel "Brazil–Germany relations in times of global transformation" featured the participation of the German Ambassador to Brazil, Bettina Cadenbach; Oliver Stuenkel, Senior Fellow at CEBRI and Professor of International Relations at Fundação Getulio Vargas; and Joana von Gaevernitz Lima, Executive Director of the Brazil–Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK). The discussion highlighted the historical strength of bilateral relations and the potential to deepen economic and technological cooperation between the two countries, especially in sectors linked to the energy transition, such as renewable energy, energy storage, and value chains associated with critical minerals. The relevance of signing the Mercosur–European Union Agreement was also emphasized as a tool to expand economic integration and strengthen the commitment to a rules-based international order.

The second panel, "A world in uncertainty: the role of Brazil and Germany in the new global dynamics," featured Maximilian Hedrich, Director of KAS Brazil; Regiane Bressan, Associate Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp); Tjerk Brühwiller, Latin America correspondent for the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ); and Leila Sterenberg, journalist and Senior Fellow at CEBRI. The discussions addressed the challenges posed by growing geopolitical tensions and transformations in the international order, highlighting the role of Brazil and Germany in defending multilateralism and seeking cooperative solutions to global challenges. The panel also explored opportunities to strengthen transatlantic dialogue in an international scenario marked by increasing political and economic uncertainty.

The event also featured a CEBRI institutional stand, where publications from the Geopolitics and Energy programs and from CEBRI-Journal were available, expanding the dissemination of the institution's analyses and research on strategic issues on the international agenda and promoting dialogue with experts, representatives from the public and private sectors, and members of the diplomatic community in attendance. The participation also reinforces the long-standing partnership between CEBRI and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, marked by joint initiatives to promote qualified debate, strengthen multilateralism, and deepen relations between Brazil and Germany.
