In parallel with the event “Post-Summit Analyses: BRICS 2025 and the Rio Declaration”, held in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation at the Itamaraty Palace, the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) held a series of meetings on July 29 and 30 with embassies of strategic economic and commercial partners of Brazil, with the aim of strengthening mutual cooperation in investment, technological exchange, and scientific collaboration. Below is a summary of the meetings conducted:
On July 29, CEBRI held an important institutional meeting with the Embassy of Finland in Brasília, aiming to deepen cooperation and explore new partnership opportunities. Representing CEBRI were Ariane Costa, Deputy Director and expert in Geopolitics and International Trade, and Gustavo Bezerra, Project Coordinator. Representing the embassy were Rafael Martins Assis, Economic and Commercial Coordinator, and Vitor Sion, Press and Communications Advisor.
Also on July 29, at the Ministry of Planning and Budget (MPO), Gustavo Bezerra met with Tauana Carneiro, Technical Administrative Analyst; Sandra Amaral, Undersecretary for Institutional Articulation; and Marcelo Moreira, Deputy Secretary for Institutional Articulation. The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the institutions and advance the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for the development of joint initiatives.
On July 30, CEBRI conducted a new round of meetings focused on reinforcing strategic partnerships and deepening dialogue with representatives of foreign governments and Brazilian authorities.
At the Embassy of India, Larissa Wachholz, CEBRI Senior Fellow; Ariane Costa, Deputy Director and expert in Geopolitics and International Trade; and Isabella Ávila, Project Coordinator, were received by the Ambassador of India to Brazil, Dinesh Bhatia. The meeting focused on presenting CEBRI’s initiatives—particularly its Geopolitics Program—and identifying opportunities in the Brazil–India bilateral relationship, following the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Brazil and the Joint Statement¹ signed between the two countries.
At the Embassy of China, the same CEBRI delegation met with Counselor Gui Lin to explore synergies and cooperation opportunities between Brazil and China. Discussions included key issues in the current global economic and trade landscape, as well as prospects for future joint projects with the Embassy.
Finally, at the Embassy of Italy in Brasília, Gustavo Bezerra was received by Edoardo Berzi, First Secretary and Head of Political Affairs, for an institutional meeting aimed at strengthening ties and identifying potential avenues for collaboration between CEBRI and the Italian diplomatic mission.
