CEBRI participated in COP 29 in Baku, leading essential discussions on critical minerals, pathways for a just transition, climate finance mechanisms, and sustainable practices toward a resilient and responsible global economy.
To explore economic diversification as a potential pathway to strengthen climate resilience, CEBRI’s Energy and Climate Change Specialist, Julia Paletta, participated in the side event "Building Resilience through Economic Diversification in a Changing Climate." Held on November 14, the event was organized by Qatar’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change with the goal of analyzing topics such as the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, the implementation of climate-smart agricultural practices, and the promotion of eco-tourism.
On the occasion, Paletta highlighted how Brazil has leveraged economic diversification and international cooperation to strengthen resilience against climate impacts. She also presented CEBRI’s policy recommendations for balancing Brazil's economic growth with climate resilience, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture and energy.
