Lima +10: a discussion on the importance of COPs in Latin America

 

Co-organized by CEBRI, Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), this event brings together leaders from Latin America who have a significant influence on the climate agenda and prominent participation in COPs ten years after COP20 in Lima, which paved the way for the Paris Agreement, to discuss Latin America's leadership in the climate debate. Held during COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the meeting aims to exchange impressions on topics such as land use, trade and green protectionism, critical minerals for the energy transition, the centrality of the adaptation agenda, and strategies to strengthen global climate governance.
