This side event will consist of a panel discussion and show how Brazil can build a bridge between its G20 and COP30 presidency. It will dive deeper into the importance of credible, robust and just transition plans including how they can accelerate clean energy finance in emerging economies. The Just Transition Finance Lab/LSE and the World Benchmarking Alliance submitted an input paper to the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group which highlighted ways to redirect private finance to unlock credible, robust and just transition plans. This will be key to ensure climate finance and investment can deliver on volume and impact to support 1.5C aligned NDCs. The latter part of the discussion on NDCs and road to COP30 will build on work from organisations such as WWF Brazil and CEBRI. The event will showcase how Brazil can lead by example in its G20 and COP30 presidencies while di-siloing policy, finance and corporate climate action.
