Closed-door meetings

Assessment instruments for foreign investments in the world and their debates in Brazil

The event is part of the project "Assessment Instruments for Foreign Investments (IAIE) in Several Countries: Recommendations for Brazil", started in 2020 by IPEA. The project aims to study the mechanisms to control and evaluate the entry of investments from foreign jurisdictions, since these instruments have been increasingly invoked in the last twenty years, changing the global trend of liberalization for the entry of foreign capital. Currently, Brazil still does not have a policy on IAIE, thus, understanding how these instruments have been structured and regulated in other countries becomes essential to discuss the need and feasibility of implementing these mechanisms in Brazil.
