On May 23, continuing with the series of outreach events for the book "10 Challenges of Brazilian Foreign Policy", CEBRI held the seminar "Challenges of Brazilian Foreign Policy" in Recife, in partnership with the Konrad Adenaur Foundation (KAS) and the Center for Comparative Policy Studies and International Relations of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). The event was attended by two authors of the publication, Matias Spektor and Carlos Góes, who contributed to discussions on the need to rethink the Brazilian foreign policy doctrine, highlighting the positive effects of international trade and investment attraction on the deconcentration of income and productivity in the country.

To emphasize the regional character of the debate, the panels were also attended by teachers from the Federal Universities of Pernambuco (UFPE), Sergipe (UFS) and the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys:

• Ernani Rodrigues de Carvalho, Pro-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Affairs at UFPE
• Marcelo de Almeida Medeiros, Coordinator of the Center for Comparative Politics and International Relations Studies at UFPE
• Rodrigo Barros de Albuquerque, Professor at the Department of International Relations at the Federal University of Sergipe
• Teresa Cristina Vale, Professor at the Federal University of Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys
• José Alexandre Ferreira Filho, Catholic University of Pernambuco

The initiative is part of a series of events that CEBRI has been carrying out in several Brazilian cities, in partnership with universities and local institutions, to disseminate and promote debate around the content of the book "10 Challenges of Brazilian Foreign Policy", by engaging different sectors of Brazilian society. Since March, the book has been presented and debated at Itamaraty, in Brasília, during this year's National Meeting of International Relations Students (ENERI), in Goiânia (GO), and at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRS).
