The panel is part of the "Reorientations of Multilateralism" project, a partnership between CEBRI and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The objective of this event is to understand the relationships between denialist actors and networks, on the one side, and authoritarian leaders and governments, on the other. Understanding this relationship can then be used to analyze how they harm multilateral climate negotiations and deconstruct the climate agenda nationally, regionally, and multilaterally.
The debate will analyze how anti-democratic policies, contrary to state regulations in market-society relations, are also associated with stances that oppose science, intellectuals, vaccines, and environmental and climate protection policies. The experience of the panelists will allow us to contrast the US, European and Brazilian experiences in relation to this phenomenon.
