Fact Sheet | Brazil-United States: USTR 301 and the Imposition of New Tariffs

Following the decision by the United States government to impose an additional 25% tariff on selected Brazilian exports, CEBRI has released a publication bringing together analyses, data, and expert perspectives on the measure's implications for the Brazilian economy and bilateral trade relations.

The study provides an overview of Brazil–United States trade in goods, including an analysis of Brazil's trade balance in 2026, with a focus on:

  • Changes in Brazil's trade relations between 2025 and 2026;
  • The impacts of the USTR's Section 301 investigation;
  • An assessment of Brazil's dependence on its main export products to the United States;
  • The evolution of the Brazil–European Union Trade Balance (2016–2026), in billions of U.S. dollars.
