Aiming to organize the next edition of the Fort of Copacabana Conference, the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer (KAS) Foundation, organized the 2nd Preparatory Working Meeting, on 4 August in CEBRI´s headquarters.
The debate on the construction of a forward-looking agenda, in order to make the next editions of the event more linked and consistent, had the mediation of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CEBRI, Rafael Benke, the representative of KAS, Aline Soares, the representative of the Delegation the European Union, Stefan Simosas, and CEBRI´s Study and Debate Coordinator, Leonardo Paz Neves. The table was also composed by Col. Claudio Dornelles, from the Ministry of Defense, João Marcelo Dalla Costa, from the School of Command and General Staff of the Army (ECEME), Ambassador Sergio Moreira Lima, from the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG) and Marcelo Valencia, professor of UERJ.
The Copacabana Fort Conference, which is held annually since 2004, aims to be the main regional forum for discussions on security and international defense. From a bi-regional perspective (South America - Europe), it seeks to promote cooperation, exchange of ideas, training and intensification of contact networks between experts and decision-makers, bringing to Brazil a discussion of current items in the International Security Agenda.
