The tenth edition of the strategic quadrilogue GIBSA happened in Brasilia, on September 25-27, bringing together the four participants think tanks: the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), from Brazil; the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), from Germany; the Institute of Peace & Conflict Studies (IPCS), from India; and the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), from South Africa.
The forum, which is an initiative held annually by a member country, discussed in this edition the vision of the four countries about the political changes recently in South America, the new global trade architecture, the uncertainties between the contemporary globalization process and the last trends of global governance and dynamics of security in the Middle East.
Participants included members of CEBRI’s Board of Trustees, Ambassador Marcos Castrioto de Azambuja, Ambassador Roberto Abdenur and Ambassador Ronaldo Mota Sardenberg; representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the Director of the Institute of Research of International Relations (IPRI), Paulo Roberto de Almeida; CEBRI’s Study and Debate Coordinator, Leonardo Paz Neves, among specialists from the other think tanks and guests.
